Taupō Disc Golf and Disc Shop Disc Golf are proud to bring you the 2023 Taupo-nui-a-Tia Disc Golf Classic, which will double as the 2023 NZDG North Island Championships and be presented by Discmania. This three day event is sanctioned by both the PDGA (A-Tier) and NZDG (Major).

We are very excited to be able to play on both the world class Spa Park course, and return to the Taupō Golf Club for our Event HQ and a modified and expanded 21 hole layout on the Tauhara course. This is one of the largest celebrations of disc golf that New Zealand has ever seen. Come along and be part of the action! 1:00pm - 5:00pm at Spa Park

9 hole 'Birdie Blitz' flexi-start fun tournament. Great for locals or if you are in Taupō early for an extended event prep! Play two Blue 9 rounds - only your best one counts. Non-registered players are totally welcome to be part of this warm up event too ($10 entry). Great prizes on offer!

8:00pm 1st round tee times and cards announced.

Thursday, March 16, 2023

8:00am - 8:00pm Practice day

Both Spa Park and Taupō Golf Club courses will be fully setup and available to play under tournament conditions.

3:30pm- 5:30pm at Spa Park

$1,000 'Invitational Skins' exhibition game at Spa Park, presented by Cosana Premium Honey. Five of our best and brightest personalities go head to head over 9 holes to take home early bragging rights and a fat stack of cash! A big gallery is expected for what should be a super fun and not to be missed warm up event!

6:00pm - 9:00pm at Taupo Golf Club

Player check-in at Event HQ, collect your player packs, meet greet and mingle with fellow players, soak up the atmosphere, followed by the official event opening, Karakia and mandatory players meeting at 8pm (live streamed and posted online for those that can't attend).

8:00am - 5:30pm 'Day One' play. Depending on your division, one round at either Taupō Golf Club (21 holes) or Spa Park (18 holes), cards of four, tee times at ten minute intervals.

6:00pm - 9:00pm Event dinner at Jimmy Coop's Lakehouse. Meal deal, details to be confirmed.

8:00am - 5:30pm 'Day Two' play. Depending on your division, one round at either Taupō Golf Club (21 holes) or Spa Park (18 holes), likely seeded within division, cards of four, tee times at ten minute intervals. Final round for Rec and Junior divisions.

6:30pm - 10:30pm at Taupo Golf Club

$1,000 'Hole in One' Party, sponsored by Garage Project. Come along to Event HQ to join in on the fun, step up to take your chance to win the (literal) grand prize! DJ, disc vendor stands, food trucks, on site bar and good vibes.

7:30am - 4:00pm 'Final Day' play. Depending on your division, one round at either Taupō Golf Club (21 holes) or Spa Park (18 holes), seeded within division, cards of four, tee times at ten minute intervals. Get amongst the big galleries to watch the lead cards bring it home!

Approx 4:00pm - 5:00pm at Taupo Golf Club

Event prize-giving, celebrations, acknowledgements and farewells.
