About the event
For the third time, the Taupō Disc Golf Club presents the Rising Stars Open!
This is a beginner-friendly, juniors-only, one-day tournament taking place at beautiful Spa Park.
To make it all more official, we are aligning with New Zealand Disc Golf's Juniors Week! This means our tournament will be sanctioned by NZDG and by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). If you would like to register with the PDGA to get an official rating, here is your chance.
To be PDGA sanctioned, we need to have at least 2 rounds, so here is what we're aiming for:
2 times around our 9-hole short course at the entrance to Spa Park (Pitch 'n Putt course)
2 times around the Blue 9-hole course (or a shortened Green 9-hole temporary layout, depending on the age of the competitors)
The first round will start around 10am, then a break for an early lunch, followed by the second round starting around 12:30pm.
Each competitor will receive a brand new free disc, as well as a mini-marker, provided by the NZDG. In addition, NZDG are providing medals for our podium finishers!
