About the event

For the second year, Club President Ken Harris will look to expand on the Kiwisport sessions he is doing at schools throughout the Taupō district.  These sessions will give kids who are interested in the fast-growing sport of disc golf a chance to dive into proper technique and gain valuable hours of practice time on one of the world's best courses.  Ken will go through a number of drills to focus on how to grip and throw with distance and accuracy, followed by practice rounds so the kids learn the rules, how to play with a group and how to select the right disc and arm motion for each shot.  This will prepare the kids to play in the Rising Stars Open on December 8th and any tournament they choose in the future.

The 7-session fee of $95 will include entry to the 2024 Rising Stars Open, junior club membership and junior tag membership.

Single session fees are $15.

We will meet every Monday between October 14th and December 2nd, but we will skip the October 28th session on Labour Day.

Sessions can be called off in the event of heavy rain or a thunderstorm.  We will play through light rain.

The first half hour of each session will be drills and instruction.  The last hour will be a practice round.  We aim to finish at 5pm, but this can vary by 5 minutes.

Please email Ken at with any questions.
